Pune: Mumbai's sister city Pune is also struggling to cope with the monsoon mania. The city received more than 80 mm of rainfall in the last four days.
Several areas in the city have faced water logging; traffic congestions and power cuts for more than two days now.
Continuous rainfall has led to a rise in water level in Warasgaon, Panshet and Khadakwasla dams. More than 8,000 cusecs of water has been discharged from Khadakwasla dam because of which water level in Mutha river is rising.
Three days of continuous rains have also blocked traffic on parts of the Pune-Mumbai expressway.
A landslide at Lonavla on Monday night blocked traffic on three lanes of the highway. Traffic on the other three lanes has also been affected.
All traffic from Pune is being diverted.
The debris of the landslide is yet to be cleared as inclement weather is preventing rescue work.
Debris is still falling and weather conditions are not yet favourable to clear the roads.
Slums in low-lying areas have been flooded. The condition of roads has turned worse because of water clogging.
There are huge traffic jams and frequent water and power cuts, adding to the woes of Pune citizens.
According to MeT department, there will be no respite from rains for next 48 hours.
