Protest for pattas at Nettapakkam

PUDUCHERRY: Residents of Panayadikuppam near Nettapakkam staged a road blockade on Tuesday demanding distribution of pattas for their land they have been living on for the last 40 years. They sat on the Karayambuthur-Nettapakkam road blocking traffic for nearly four hours. Bahour police station inspector Mohan Kumar and deputy tahsildar Balakrishanan held talks with them, but the agitators refused to budge. They later withdrew the agitation on the assurance that a meeting would be held to discuss their issue.
