New Delhi: The Delhi-Attari Samjhauta Express was hit by twin blasts on Sunday night, killing 68 people and critically injuring many more.
Many see the blasts as a move to try and derail the peace process between India and Pakistan especially as many of the people travelling aborad the train were Pakistani nationals.
And the RSS is having none of it. They have blamed the terror strike on intelligence failure and have said that it underscores the need for a tough anti-terror law.
"It is both the failure of intelligence and of the state machinery to tackle terror. We feel it's high time the government had a rethink over its attitude towards laws like POTA, which should be brought back," RSS leader Ram Madhav was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
The BJP too has demanded the immediate execution of Parliament attack accused Mohammad Afzal so as to send a 'strong message'' to terrorists that India would not bow down to such pressure tactics.
BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who alleged Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had lost moral right to stay in office after the Samjhauta explosions, accused the ruling UPA of failure to deal with terror.
"Pakistan should be told that it should honour its (2004) commitment that it would not allow its territory to be used for terrorist activities against India if it wants the peace process to be fruitful," Malhotra was quoted by PTI as saying.
