Police seek legal opinion on Balans complaint

KOLLAM: The Pathanapuram Police sought legal opinion from the public prosecutor on the complaint received from A K Balan on the remarks made against him by P C George at a public function in Pathanapuram the other day. The complaint written on the MLA’s letter pad was submitted on Friday by Advocate Jafar Khan on behalf of Balan. The complaint was filed in the wake of the DGP’s and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s remark that a case cannot be registered based on the complaints filed earlier, as it was not made by the victim. Meanwhile, Pathanapuram Police received three other complaints against Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan for his derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister.
