Police cant dictate terms: VHP

HYDERABAD: Taking strong exception to Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan’s diktat to pandal organisers to take prior permission to install Ganesh idols,  Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP ) leaders said  the police should refrain from imposing restrictions on pandal organisers. “Why should permission be needed for only one religion to celebrate their festivals? The law should be equal. If there are no restrictions for other communities, why should they be imposed on us,’’ VHP joint secretary Thakur Yemen Singh asked.
