New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday arrested another person in the Amar Singh phone tapping case. The accused, Anurag, has an MBBS degree and owns a detective agency in Connaught Place, Delhi. This is the third arrest in the case.
The accused has been sent to three days police remand.
During the course of the investigation, the police confiscated Anurag's laptop and have sent it to Hyderabad for forensic tests.
So far the police have arrested two others, a Reliance Infocomm employee and another detective agency owner.
Singh spoke to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh regarding the issue. He claimed that PMO officials were tapping his phone at the behest of Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Meanwhile, the PMO has denied any involvement of its officers in the case.
Sharp and well rehearsed on his future plan, Singh hit out at Ambika Soni and a journalist MP for conspiring against him.
Singh claims that officers of the Intelligence Bureau informally told him about the case on December 25.
"I want a parliamentary probe, it should be taken up by the JPC. I will move the Supreme Court," Singh said.
The Congress was quick to dismiss him and has said that Singh’s statements are cheap attention seeking tactics.
"He has a PhD in telling lies. One should ignore all this," Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said.
The verbal duel between Congress and the Samajawadi Party is getting murkier by the day. After meeting the Prime Minister, Singh has made it clear that his next stop will be Presidents APJ Abdul Kalam’s house.
