KOCHI: The Bhavan's Schools Parents Association has come out strongly against the officials of the Bhavan's Kochi Kendra. The PTA members told reporters that the statements made by the authorities about having solved the issues related to corruption were indeed a cover-up.Secretary general Dasthur and trustee Khandewala, who came here to investigate the matter, had withheld the truth about corruption by stating that it was all a misunderstanding and lack of proper communication. The association demanded the withdrawal of the 15 percent fees hike and requested the state government to look into the matter. The conflict between groups makes it obvious that the increase of fees to twice the original amount in the past three years amounted to looting the parents. The association members said that while the Thiruvankulam Hill Palace Bhavan's does not have an affiliation right from the beginning, Bhavan's Vidya Mandir Eroor and Bhavan's Adarsha Kakkanad lost their affiliations in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The Mumbai headquarters and its chairman and director of Kochi Kendra have been silent on this issue, they said.Meanwhile, following the directions of the Human Rights Commission, the Kerala State Electricity Board has called a meeting at 11 am on Friday to discuss the dangers of the high tension electric line passing through the school and the possible solutions. The District Collector, chief electrical inspector, Tripunithura municipal secretary, president and secretary of parents association and the local councillor are expected to attend the meeting.
