Owaisi Says BJP-RSS Pre-empting Supreme Court Decision on Babri Masjid Dispute
Asadudding Owaisi has further alleged that witnesses in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case were either not appearing for the hearings or turning hostile.

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the BJP and RSS for pre-empting the decision of the Supreme Court on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.

Arguing that the issue in question is the "title suit", Owaisi said, "The case is in the Supreme Court, but members of the RSS have already announced that work on the building the temple will begin by October 17, 2018. How are they so sure that the court’s judgment will be in their favour?"

“The case is the title suit and not based on astha or faith. It is not about a masjid or mandir. We hope that the verdict is also based on the merit of the case and not on religious sentiments,” he added.

Owaisi further alleged that witnesses in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case were either not appearing for the hearings or turning hostile.

“I have been getting reports from Lucknow. In the ongoing criminal case, there are no witnesses who have come forward to give statements against LK Advani or Murli Manohar Joshi and even if they do come out, they are turning hostile," Owaisi said.

The Special CBI Court in Lucknow is hearing the case against senior BJP leaders like LK Advani, MM Joshi, Uma Bharti and others.

Raising concerns over the increasing attacks on Muslims, Owaisi said, “RSS has created an atmosphere of fear in the country. While some are killed in the name of cows, some are killed for having a beard. By killing the Indian Muslims, they are only weakening the nation. I want to tell those who are behind these acts of killing that you will not be able to finish us with such acts."

The Supreme Court will be hearing the Ayodhya title dispute case on February 8.
