Bengaluru: A Northeast girl allegedly faced racial abuse by an auto-driver in Bengaluru. The girl has claimed that none of the bystanders came forward to help her.
Speaking to CNN-News18, the girl claimed that the auto driver got violent when she tried to confront him.
"We went for a football match after which we were looking for an auto. He asked for double money and we said that's too much, After a few seconds he began shouting and making comments from behind, using abusive words in his local language. Then I went back and asked '"what did you just say?", and he started getting violent," the girl said.
"This Bangalore city, this is a goddamn smart city. There were more 50-60 people and they were just sitting there and watching the whole fight and did nothing. Nobody came forward to help us. This was very humiliating, I was abused. The auto driver was throwing racial comments at me," the girl added.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the matter and have registered a case.
This incident comes after a Tanzanian woman was allegedly stripped and beaten on the streets in Bengaluru after a road accident in February.
