Nod for sand mining

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry government has permitted mining of sand by Puducherry Cooperative Building Centre (PCBC)  and PAPSCO at two places from Tuesday to meet the deficiency of sand. District collector G Ragesh Chandra said that PCBC can mine in Varaga Nathi at Kunichampet village, while PAPSCO can mine from the Sankarabarani river in Settipet and Penniyar river in Soriyankuppam.Priority for usage of the sand mined from these places would be given to public works. Sand would be sold from July 4 onwards
