Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled all his promises and he will also fulfil the guarantee of making a hat-trick in Lok Sabha elections, said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Monday. Speaking at News18 India’s Chaupal, the Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology presented a report of all the work done under his ministries in the past five years.

In good news for Railway passengers, the Minister informed that sleeper coaches of Vande Bharat Expres would come on track in March this year. “Besides, Indian Railways is also going to export Vande Bharat,” he said.

The Minister assured the passengers who had been waiting for the Sleeper Vande Bharat Express for a long time that the Sleeper Vande Bharat would come on track in March this year. Besides, Indian Railways is also going to export Vande Bharat.

Vaishnav noted that the PM Modi-led BJP government has done a complete transformation of Railways in the last 10 years. “PM Modi’s resolve to make a developed India will be fulfilled by 2047,” he said.

The Minister stressed that said that between 2004 to 2014, the Railway budget was Rs 15 thousand crores, however, it has been increased to Rs 2.52 lakh crore under the BJP government. “Around 31 thousand km long railway tracks have been constructed in the last 10 years. In the last year alone, 5200 km of railway track has been constructed, which is equal to Switzerland,” he said.

Vaishnav also informed that work on the bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is going on at a fast pace. “Around 280 km of this corridor is ready. The bullet train will start on time,” he said.

He also talked about undersea twin tunnels in South Mumbai and the world’s highest single-arch railway bridge, located above the Chenab river between Bakkal and Kauri in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.

Regarding work done in the telecom sector, the Minister said that 10 years ago it used to take more than 200 days to get permission to set up a telecom tower in the country, but today it takes just 7 days. “At present, 5.15 lakh towers of 5G have been installed in the country. It is the fastest-growing network in the world,” he said.
