HYDERABAD: The Task Force police on Thursday foiled an attempt of murder by arresting one among a four-member gang behind it. Police also seized daggers from him. According to police, the accused, Syed Jeelani alias Syed Jahangir (20), a painter and a resident of Bolanagar in Banjara Hills, was earlier arrested by Jubilee Hills police in connection with a two-wheeler theft case and remanded to judicial custody in February. In the jail, he came in contact with Mohammed Feroz alias Nerru (25), a history-sheeter of Golconda police station, who also maintains a gang. Nerru asked Jeelani to meet him after being released from prison to eliminate his rival, Mohammed Anwar, a history-sheeter of Banjara Hiils police station.Nerru’s gang includes Shaik Hasham, a fabrication worker and resident of Brundavan Colony, Tolichowki and Chowsh, a resident of Bade Bazar, Ist Lancer. Currently, the trio are absconding. Nerru asked his gang to help him eliminate Anwar and gave Rs 3,000 to Jeelani to procure daggers from Nanded. Accordingly, Jeelani bought two daggers from Nanded and on Thursday, he was on way to hand over them to Feroz when police held him at Bolanagar.
