New Delhi: Motorola announced the launch of Flipout, its Android-powered compact smartphone. The Flipout runs on Google's Android 2.1 and comes with Motoblur, Motorola's custom user interface for Android phones.
The Motoblur interface aggregates and syncs Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail and last.fm.
The phone has a five-row rotator QWERTY keypad with a separate row for numeric keys. The Flipout comes with multi-touch support including pinch to zoom on a 2.8-inch screen (320x240 pixels) and has seven customisable home screens.
The square design of the phone measures 6.7 cm in length and breadth and is 1.7 cm thick. The 1170 mAh battery promises a talk time of 357 minutes on GSM and 275 minutes on WCDMA networks. The standby time is 365 hours on GSM and 377 hours on WCDMA.
Available in eight colours, the Flipout is equipped with a 3 megapixel camera. The Android HTML WebKit browser supports Adobe Flash.
Motorola's latest Android phone has 512MB internal memory with support for up to 32GB MicroSD cards.
The phone is expected to hit European markets in June.
