HYDERABAD: Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mother Y S Vijayamma on Saturday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ensure a semblance of justice and fair play to the CBI probe into the her son’s source investments. “It appears that the Congress-led UPA government has chosen the path of Lady Macbeth: if you cannot politically defeat a person, eliminate him. Take over the reins of the country to ensure that genuine political dissent is not hounded at the will and pleasure of lumpen elements who seem to indirectly control the central government,” she urged the PM.In a five-page letter addressed to the PM, the Pulivendula MLA mentioned the Bofors, Adarsh Housing and Volkswagen scams involving Congress leaders, and the RIL-JM Financial-Eenadu equity deal allegedly arranged by TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu to bail out Ramoji Rao of Eenadu. She asked, “Has the CBI ever raided the premises of the Reliance group promoted by a former clerk to find out how he mobilised his equity to become India’s richest person in a short span of time?”She added, “In the Bofors scam, no CBI raids were conducted on the premises of the late Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi despite serious allegations levelled against them with prima facie evidence of their involvement. Sonia Gandhi was very close to Quattrochi who was the author of many scams which include Bofors. The CBI did not raid the houses of former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan and others involved in the Adarsh housing scam. In Andhra Pradesh, no CBI raids were conducted on the houses of the then industries minister Botcha Satyanarayana and officers allegedly involved in the Volkswagen scam. What happened to the ACB case against former chief minister K Rosaiah? The case was dropped without any raids or even before proper investigation. Remaining loyal to Sonia Gandhi has become a rule of law for this country.“Nobody has ever probed Chandrababu Naidu’s rags-to-riches story. Nobody in the Congress has ever asked about the sources of equity of the Lanco group promoted by Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal. As Jagan is not on the right side of the government and Sonia Gandhi, he and his associates are hounded and witch-hunted. The ongoing CBI raids is a clear case of witch-hunting,’’ she said.
