Maoists kill police informer

KORAPUT: Maoists killed a man by slitting his throat at Mankidi village under Narayanpatna police limits on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Meeshra Turuk, a native of Ichapur village of Bijaghati panchayat under Narayanpatna block.      In a letter left behind at the spot, the Maoists stated that he was killed for being a police informer. The ultras also set afire two vehicles including the one in which Turuk was travelling. This is the fourth such incident in the last five years. Combing operation has been intensified in the region.
