JHARSUGUDA: Jharsuguda police arrested a man and his son, identified as Mahesh Marai (48) and Manish Marai (22), of Dipupada in Jharsuguda town on Tuesday on the charges of burglary. The receiver of the stolen goods identified as Dharmendra Yadav (21) of Dipupada too has been nabbed. The police have seized two diamond-studded bangles worth ` 2.5 lakh, gold ornaments of ` 1.5 lakh, silver ornaments of ` 50,000, five laptops and 25 mobile phones from their possession.Reports said that the man and his son along with three others had stolen valuables worth about ` 5 lakh from the house of one Kuldeep Goyal here on July 3. A police team was then formed to bust the gang and acting on a tip off, the two along with the receiver were arrested. Three members of the gang are absconding.The gang was involved in the burglary of locked houses and shops in and around Jharsuguda town. The three have been sent to jail.
