MYSORE: Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike state president Shivaram, who was attacked by devotees at Kukke Subramanya temple near Mangalore, said that a protest will be organised at Freedom Park in Bangalore on December 5, to urge the government to stop the ‘Made Snana’ ritual.He said that Nidumamidi Swamiji will lead the protest in which more than 3,000 people are expected to participate. “I will visit Beteraya Swamy temple at Turuvekere in Tumkur in March to protest against ‘Made Snana’,” he added. He was speaking at a protest held at Gandhi Square, near here on Saturday, against the ritual. The protest was organised by Federation of Progressive Organisations in which activists of CPM and various Kannada outfits were also present. Pragatipara Vedike president P Mallesh said that such rituals have no place in a democratic country.
