Lorry, auto collide near Bijapur, 10 die

BIJAPUR: Ten people, including seven women, were killed when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in collided with a lorry near Sindagi on Friday, police said.The deceased have been identified as Chikkamma Hadapad (35), Rukumabai Mumadal (40), Shantawwa Kumbar (40), Jagadevi Hadapad (40), Gurawwa Akhande (35), Shankarawwa, Mallanagouda Biradar (50), Gururaj Minahalli (14), Sunil Male (18) and Danamma (36). They were going as cooks for a wedding to Gabasavalagi village when the accident took place. The truck was coming towards Bijapur from Gulbarga."The deceased were sent to Sindagi hospital for post mortem, and the rickshaw driver was among the dead," police said. The Sindagi police have registered a case.
