Liquor meant to influence voters seized

HOSUR: Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) bottles smuggled from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu to distribute to voters, ahead of the local body elections, were seized in Hosur. Venkatesh (30) was smuggling 678 bottles of IMFL from Bangalore to distribute in Kallakurichi, where his father Govindaraj is contesting the local body elections. He was transporting the bottles in an SUV. The police team led by HUDCO police inspector Saravanan checked the SUV when it was crossing Hosur industrial town and found the bottles in the vehicle. After seizing the bottles, police arrested Venkatesh.
