THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A redemption seems at hand, finally, for the water-logging right in front of the Jalabhavan campus at Vellayambalam. After the failed attempt to plug the leak a few days back, the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) would carry out the repair work on Thursday. The 700-mm primo pipeline which was laid during the 1970s had developed a leak several weeks back. A call for repair was long pending. “The work would be carried out on Thursday night itself. The work would not affect water supply,” said an official with KWA. The repair work was to be undertaken on Wednesday night itself. But it was postponed after a leak was detected on the 1,000-mm PSC pipeline at Vazhayila on Wednesday. The pumping was stopped and this affected water supply in and around Vazhayila. When contacted, the KWA officials said that this repair work would get over by Wednesday night itself.
