KOCHI: CBI Additional Superintendent of Police P G Haridath, 51, who was the investigation officer in the sensational custodial death of Sampath in Palakkad, was found dead in his house in Njarackal on Thursday. He was found hanging in his bedroom. Top police officials, including a DySP and two IPS Officers, are accused in the custodial death of Sampath. According to a note found near Haridath’s body, he had committed suicide due to work pressure. Two officials of the Thiruvananthapuram CBI branch, an advocate and a magistrate, who were part of the team probing the Sampath case, were mentioned in the suicide note.“They forced me to do everything and I was trapped,”  the note said.However, the police did not confirm whether it was written by Haridath. Haridath, who was on medical leave for a month, was undergoing treatment for depression. He is survived by wife Nisha and son Nandagopal, who is studying in Agriculture University, Mannuthy, Thissur.Police officials said Nisha saw him hanging in the bedroom around 5 pm. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. The body will be taken to Alappuzha Medical College for post-mortem on Friday.He had confirmed the involvement of Additional Director General of Police B S Muhammed Yasin and Deputy Inspector General of Police Vijay Sakhare in the Sampath murder case.
