ANANTAPUR: The Anantapur district sessions court on Tuesday pronounced death sentence to a 26-yearold man for killing four persons by setting them on fire at Thodaralla village in Bukkarayasamudram mandal last year. Additional sessions judge K Vijaya Kumar delivered the verdict after perusing the records of the case. The accused E Manjunath of Thodarall village reportedly had an extra-marital affair with Y Subbalakshmi (28) of the same village following the death of her husband. After sometime, the couple developed differences when Manjunath insisted that Subbalakshmi transfer her land abutting National Higheay 7 to him, Manjunath was thrown out of the house by Subbalakshmi's father Nagamani. Irked by this, Manjunath returned to Subbalakshmi's residence late in the night of March 11, 2011 when the inmates were in deep sleep. He pour petrol on the house and set it on fire. Subbalakshmi along with her father Nagamani (65), mother Kondamma (60), and nephew Srikanth (14) were killed in the incident, while Subbalakshmi's daughter Aparna sustained severe injuries.
