SRIVILLIPUTHUR: A thirty-six-year-old woman from Mexico, who had left for Kerala from Krishnankovil in Tamil Nadu, has been reported missing since April 9, police said on Sunday.Ceule Denise Acosta (36) was a student of ‘Mohiniyattam’ at Kerala Kalamandalam, a deemed university of arts and culture at Cheruthuruthi in Thrissur district. Manric (40), her Mexican boyfriend, was pursing a post-doctoral degree in Mathematics in a private university near Srivilliputhur. They have a five-year-old daughter Adila, staying with Manric in Krishnankovil, S Sakthivelu, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Srivilliputhur, told Express.Acosta use to come to visit her boyfriend and child twice a month, taking leave from her dance course. She visited them on April 4 and  returned on April 9, said Sakthivelu. Manric helped Acosta board a bus from Krishnankovil bus stand.  However, she didn’t reach Shoranur, where she resided in a rented house, said police. She used to call her boyfriend when she reached her destination, but this time he didn’t receive a call from her, said the DSP.When Manric called Acosta on her mobile phone, an unknown person picked up the call and immediately cut the line, thereafter switching off the mobile phone, said the DSP.Manric then tired to contact her through email, but hasn’t received any response. When he contacted the Kalamandalam, staff informed him that Acosta had not reached there, police said.Manric filed a complaint with Srivilliputhur police station on Saturday.According to police, Acosta, who knows only English, used to board a bus from Krishnankovil to Madurai. From there, she took another bus to Pollachi, from where she travels to Thrissur. “Acosta, who started on April 9th in the morning from Krishnankovil, would have reached Thrissur late in the night. Either somebody would have misled her at Thrissur or she would have gone to a friend’s place since it is vacation time,” said the senior police officer.“We have informed the Kerala Police and also checked with the house-owner at Shornur, where Acosta stays,” added the officer.
