Kerala: CPM in no hurry to answer VS
A PB member said CPM has decided not to make any further statements on the issue till the Neyyatinkara bypoll is over.

NEW DELHI: Left with not many options, the CPM central leadership has decided to continue with its usual “wait and watch” policy even though V S Achuthanandan has lobbed the ball into their court with his controversial letter in the backdrop of the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan. The ‘available PB’ which met here on Tuesday has decided to play down the matter for the time being and not to make any move that would precipitate the crisis. That CPM hasn’t given much significance to the VS’ letter can be assumed from the fact that only three leaders - Prakash Karat, Sitaram Yechury and S Ramachandran Pillai - attended the meeting though other Delhibased leaders were present in the capital. “The central committee would be meeting on June 9 and 10 in which all matters related to the party would be discussed,” said a CPM PB member. He said that the CPM has decided not to make any further statements on the issue till the Neyyatinkara bypoll gets over. However, Yechury said that VS hasn’t said that he would resign from his post of the Opposition Leader if the state leadership wasn’t changed. “I also have got the letter.  Nothing of that sort is there in the letter,” Yechury addedd.
