TIRUCHY: Free training on job-oriented courses in computer and tailoring was inaugurated on Saturday for the benefit of Srirangam constituency youth as per the instruction by Chief Minister J Jayalaithaa.The Chief Minister who was elected from Srirangam constituency has been introducing several welfare scheme to her constituency as per the promises given by her during the elections .Meanwhile, in order to generate employment opportunity to the youth especially those who are from the rural pockets of the constituency, Jayalalithaa herself planned to conduct job-oriented courses to the youth from her personal fund.‘It is the brainchild of Amma and we the cadre will be a tool in implementing her ideas to the benefit of the public’, M Paranjothi, the Constituency in charge said.Initially, the centre would cater to as many as 28 youth including men in computer literacy programme and 28 women candidates for tailoring course. Both the courses are being conducted for a period of three months. While, computer programme will have two shifts with 14 students in each shift, tailoring would have four shifts.The class will temporarily run at the office of the Srirangam MLA. Meanwhile, AIADMK district Secretary (Urban) and MLA (Tiruchy East) R Manoharan said, the party cadre would appeal to CM to expand the programme in all the constituencies.‘We teach the basics of computer and job oriented courses including, DTP’, S Sarojini, the instructor said.The centre will sign an MoU with the registered computer education centre and will distribute certificates to the candidates who successfully complete the three month course.
