New Delhi: There are 357 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims who are stranded in a place called Gulabgarh, the Jammu and Kashmir government told the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

While giving the details, the state government added that it will evacuate all the pilgrims in the next 24 hours and was monitoring the situation.

The court also refused to interfere on lifting the ban on SMSes and blackout of local cable network by the state administration following the violence in Kishtwar in three people have been killed.

While observing that the administration is the best judge of the matter as the officers are in the field, the apex court also directed the Jammu and kashmir government to file an affidavit on the issue on August 19.

The court was hearing a PIL that had been filed in the Supreme Court on Monday seeking the safe transit of stranded pilgrims who have gone to Jammu and Kashmir for the Amarnath Yatra.

The PIL had been filed by Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party through Bhim Singh, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court.
