New Delhi: Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' has been adapted quite a few times in Bollywood. This time round, director Manish Tiwary gives the famous love story his own interpretation and shifts the story to the ancient town of Varanasi.
The film's main protagonist are played by relative newcomers. While Pratiek is six films old, the film's leading lady Amyra Dastur makes her debut with the film. Pratiek's debut performance in 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' was lauded. Even though he did not play the lead in the film, critics were all praises for his performance. Post the success of 'Jaane Tu..' Pratiek hasn't been able to strike gold at the Box Office with his films. For both, Prateik and Amyra, 'Issaq' is an important film.
The film also boasts of a formidable supporting cast. Ravi Kissan, Prashant Narayanan and Rajeshwari Sachdev play pivotal roles in the film.
