New Delhi: He charmed the country playing Raju in Guide and Heera Bhandari in Heera Panna. Even after six decades in the industry, yesteryear chocolate-boy Dev Anand continues to romance what he knows best – films.
And now, Dev Anand is out with his autobiography, an inside story of the ‘Gregory Peck of Indian Cinema’.
Tentatively titled Romancing With Life, the autobiography will take us through his journey as an actor, from films like CID and Kaala Paani, to his stint as a filmmaker.
The book, to be published by Penguin India, will also give an insight into his relationships with his leading ladies Suraiya and Zeenat Aman.
The book is scheduled to be launched on September 26, to coincide with Dev Anand's 85th birthday.
''This book is my life. I have spent over 60 glorious years in show business, sitting in the front row seat all the time. And I have watched my country grow from pre-Independence to the present day, from a mountain top. It just happened. I never planned it that way,'' the legendary actor was quoted as saying by UNI.
His creative burst never rests. He's all set for his first English film to release, When Heartbeats are the Same, which has been shot entirely in Croatia.
In the pipeline is also a murder mystery, Charge Sheet, apparently inspired by the famous Jessica Lal case.
