In a major embarrassment for the Indian Railways, the ministry, it its reply to a query on Twitter, has replied that only the lowest class or carriage tickets are printed in regional and rest are printed only in English and Hindi.
This reply comes after CT Ravi, a national secretary of the BJP and a Karnataka MLA, tweeted to Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday requesting him that train tickets within Karnataka should also be printed in Kannada.

The replies received by both Ravi and another citizen got has shocked everybody.
The concerned department in the ministry replied that only tickets of the lowest class of carriage are printed in regional language. Others are in Hindi and English.
Once this reply became public, social media erupted in anger against such insensitivity calling it imposition of Hindi over entire India.

The Constitution of India clearly states that all 15 major languages are national languages and including Hindi all are regional languages.
