New Delhi: An Indian engineer and six Afghan policemen were killed on Thursday in a suicide attack in western Afghanistan.
The suicide bomber blew himself up while security personnel were investigating an earlier explosion in western Afghanistan, reported an official.
Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel are among those killed in the blast, said a statement issued by an official spokesperson on the suicide attack.
The blast targetted border roads workers constructing Zaranj-Delaram road. The injured are being airlifted for better treatment. Families of deceased will be compensated immediately, the statement added.
Meanwhile, India will review security for Indian nationals and projects immediately.
Nearly 150 of such attacks killed hundreds of people, mostly civilians, in the year 2007. These attacks are usually blamed on Taliban rebels, reports AFP.
