Barack Obama took power as the first black US president on Tuesday. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama began their tour of inaugural balls on Tuesday night. The first couple Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama started with their first dance at the neighbourhood ball, which was the first among the 10 that took place on Tuesday night.

Obama wore a black tuxedo with white bow tie while Michelle carried an off-white, floor-length gown. The couple danced to the classic Etta James love song At Last.The ball was attended by the common masses and not the high rollers. The mesmerised crowd chanted Obama's name when they finished with the dance.
