New Delhi: The clout of Nepal Maoists has moved beyond the country's boundaries and on the receiving end this time are Indians on the Indo-Nepal border.
On Saturday, a CNN-IBN report revealed how farmers from Nepal are cultivating land near the Indo-Nepal border and among those supporting the unlawful act are the Maoists.
Reacting to the report, Defence Minister AK Anthony said that the issue will be soon be resolved.
"Such incidents are happen occasionally along the border and they will always happen. As far as Nepal is concerned, our experience in the past is that we have been able to sort it out quickly. This also, whatever it may be, we will sort it out," he assured.
CNN-IBN's story showed how hundreds of acres of land on Indian territory is being tilled by Nepali citizens who live close to the border. So, Nepali farmers are ploughing not only the no man's land on the Indo- Nepal border but also the Indian soil beyond.
Indian villagers have been asking for help for some time now. But only a handful of SSB Jawans and a team of local district officials have come to survey the land so far.
