Holistic health village for the aged mooted

BCG Healthcare scouts for equity partners and clearance for its two health-based projects worth Rs 335 crore at Emerging Kerala 2012.

A holistic health village for the aged people with assisted living facilities in Kundannoor and a 100-bedded super-specialty secondary care hospital in Palarivattom.

The proposed Rs 224.95-crore health village is an assisted living facility on a plush green-water front land at Kundannoor. Traditional healing and cultural facilities, including a premium clubhouse and rejuvenation, form part  of the village to cater to the spiritual and cultural aspects of health.

The project will have a health square, a multidisciplinary medical centre that provides different medical treatments under one umbrella. Geriatric care and amalgamation of modern allopathy with traditional medicines like ayurveda, homoeopathy and naturopathy, residential units, health square and intensive care with resident doctors are the main features. The project is expected to be completed in three years.

“Upto 35 per cent stakes will be open for sale. The BCG Health Village will help the investors gain the first-mover advantage,” CEO Rekha Babu who is based in Kochi.

Super-specialty secondary care hospital

The other project to be showcased by the group at the Emerging Kerala is a 100-bed super-specialty secondary care hospital in Palarivattom in the city. It has an estimated outlay of Rs 110 crore, and will have specialisation in the areas like cardiology, gynaecology, neurology, oncology and orthopaedics.

The authorities have completed the civil structure of the hospital, which is expected to be operational by December 2013.
