HYDERABAD: A person hailing from Mumbai, who was allegedly involved in several house break-in’s in the city and Pune, was on Tuesday arrested and property worth nearly Rs 56 lakh recovered from him. The accused used to travel in expensive cars in posh localities during night and target locked houses, police said.The accused moved either in a Mitsubishi Lancer or Honda City car and broke into homes using sophisticated equipment.Cyberabad police commissioner, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said the accused, Mohammad Hameed Qureshi alias Hameed hails from Tata Nagar slum in Mumbai.He is a previous offender who was arrested by Maharastra and AP police earlier in various cases.Qureshi jumped bail and several non-bailable warrants were pending against him.Tirumala Rao said Qureshi was lately arrested by Bengaluru police and released on bail in March last year.“After his release, he shifted his two families to Toli Chowki in the city.He purchased Mitsubishi Lancer and Honda City cars with the money he got through burglary.Qureshi moved in the expensive cars in posh localities so that none doubted him,” commissioner said.“If he finds a locked house, he parks the vehicle at a distance and uses sophisticated equipment to break a lock or a latch without making any noise.Police recovered nearly 1.58-kg gold ornaments, 6-kg silver and two cars all amounting to `56.27 lakh.
