New Delhi: We don't need no roses or bouquets, you sent enough of them to so many people. And it's no time to light candles either.

You did plenty of candle-lighting here while paying your tribute to late superstar Raj Kumar.

You indeed went head over heels to wish Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Shah Rukh Khan and Rajnikant on their birthdays with so many roses and bouquets that, maybe, there is left none for us.

And, indeed, you clicked and clicked and clicked all through the length and breadth and width and across all hues of colours right here, on IBNlive, when you needed to quench your thirst for news, for views, for fun and – may we stretch it a bit to say – for WHATEVER YOU WANTED – just as they say WHATEVER IT TAKES.

Hey dear, you are smart enough. How could you miss the point for so long? Or you still want us to say it straight? OK, granted.

We turned one today. Yes, it's Happy Birthday for IBNLive, just a day after CNN-IBN celebrated its first birthday on Sunday.

But tell you the truth? We ourselves were about to miss this chance for a big-bang bash as you all kept us on the toes all this while kicking, screaming, slamming, blasting, provoking and at times patronising to do what we do best - chase news by the second, give views from across all sides and engage you in all the fun of a busy, interactive web experience.

And it seemed you all have had a blast all this while. Or who else would light over 2.5 lakh candles for our beloved superstar late Raj Kumar? Who else kept us flooded with their opinions and reactions all this while.

The 5,000 or so comments that we receive everyday is no mean a volume, you see. And look at the busy opinion poll schedules for various CNN-IBN programmes that register thousands of votings day in and day out.

So what difference does this birthday mean to me, you are asking. Aren't you? Well, people, have a heart.

Give us one small window of an opportunity to swing in these times of festivity and shake a leg on this occasion. It's really, really grand for us, you see.

But yes, we are not forgetting you. You will have your share of it coming your way in a while.

Maybe as a surprise combo offer, packed with some New Year goodies, you never know!

After all, we have always been as unpredictable as the summer rains in the Himalayan hills. Ain't we? Every time you came back to us every morning and time and again throughout the day, we bet, you had a surprise.
