Understanding of god
From what I understand about god, he is a superhero — ready and willing, to be at my beck and call, 24/7. He is the ultimate life-factor, and I can see him in everything and everyone around me, from my parents, friends, to children, animals, birds and plants. To get connected to him, I just need one of them around. He graciously observes all our actions through them.
Spiritual beliefs
My spiritual belief is the source of my strength I don’t believe in a religion that preaches sectarianism and fanaticism. I am an ardent Krishna devotee and he gives me the ultimate happiness, love and knowledge. He symbolises God for me and I feel his power within me at all times.
Spiritual practices
I do not believe in structured puja schedules and rituals. However, I do not mind it on special days and occasions. I feel it is too demanding and boring to read prayers which I don’t understand. My connect with him is through chanting and meditation. In silence too, I enjoy his bliss and divinity.
Pilgrimage sites
Tirupati was a yearly pilgrimage place as a child. However, I do not enjoy it anymore for various reasons (it is overcrowded). At the same time, I have no doubt about the abundance of positivity and divinity of this very holy place.
Being a Krishna devotee, I have been to Guruvayoor, Brindavan, Mathura and of course all the ISKON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temples in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai.
Miracles
Every day and every second is god’s miracle. I consider all the meaningful coincidences in my life, miracles.
(Sadhana Rajkumar is fondly called the ‘Sparrow Queen’ of Chennai for her good work with birds)
