SANGAREDDY: In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her neighbour at Manoharabad village in Toopran mandal in the district on Monday night. According to police sources, Bikshapati, 28, took his neighbours' daughter Sirisha out on Monday evening on the pretext of buying biscuits to her.As he failed to return even by night, the girl's parents Dasu and Shyamala became panicky and searched for him in the village but could not find him.However, in the early hours of Tuesday they found him on the outskirts of the village. When they questioned him about Sirisha, Bikshapati told them that he had left the girl at her house the previous night itself. The villagers immediately alerted the police who took him into custody. In the police interrogation he confessed to raping and killing Sirisha.Bikshapati led the police to the fields where he dumped the body.Bikshapati said he had deliberately dumped the body in the fields belonging to one Pentaiah, with whom he had a previous enemity. The body was handed over to her parents after post-mortem. The police regsitered a case and are investigating.
