Bangalore: A little boy is playing in the fountain in Bangalore's Cubbon Park on a Sunday afternoon. He runs in circles around the fountain as his mother runs after him with a towel.
Like most kids his age, he too loves all those things that children indulge in. Playful, naughty, agile and discovering the beauty of nature. Meet Gagan, one of India's youngest entry into the Guinness Book of World Records in limbo skating. In January this year, the five-year-old managed to slide under 39 SUVs in less than half a minute, an act that is almost impossible to most of us.
"I want chocolate," he tells me as we walk upto him. But Gagan is not your average 5-year-old. He may have chocolate on his mind but his target is clear. Done with the fountain, he settles on a bench. Satish and his wife are seated on either side of their son, fitting Gagan's shoes on.
One look at him and you wouldn't know that Gagan is a world record-breaker. As the kindergarten student's tiny, agile body glided underneath the row of 39 cars, his focus made sure he did not hit the vehicles. He finished the act in 29.8 seconds to be exact. "I love going under cars," says Gagan.
Gagan has won many laurels before he broke the Guiness record. As he shows off his limo-skating skills in Cubbon Park, several curious passers-by and Sunday picnickers stop by to click pictures on their phones. Many of them pose with the wonder boy with his medals and trophies.
Coach Yatish and Gagan's parents believe that skating will gain more popularity as a sport and that their little champion will go on to win many more hearts. Not to forget, Gagan got his chocolate bar he'd asked for.
