The journey of 5 unlikely characters to find true love. And then there's that thing with the cat.
‘Findinf Fanny’ basically revolves around a road trip in search of Ferdie’s (Naseeruddin Shah) life. There are lovely landscapes, beautiful cinematography and a quaint rustic touch added to the Goa and Karnataka countryside.
Deepika Padukone looks stunning, and fits in effortlessly as the young widow, who takes great pleasure in helping others.
One of the best things about the films Pankaj Kapoor, definitely. As the lusty old artist Don Pedro Cleto Colaco, he flirts incessantly with the Deepika’s widowed mother-in-law, Rosie Eucharistica (Dimple Kapadia). He also gets some of the best one-liners in the film.
Dimple Kapadia is awesome as the loud, annoying, but sexually-charged old widow. She gets into fights with people and is particularly fond of alcohol. Here’s a sample dialogue: “Alcohol is not good for my legs.” “Arthritis?” “No! It makes my legs spread! Ha ha!”
Naseeruddin Shah as the bumbling, kind-hearted simpleton Ferdie is naive and endearing at the same time.
And then there’s the thing with the cat. We shall say no more. (Seriously, it is HILARIOUS!)
