Facebook is the most googled word in the state this year. ‘Download’ is the second most-searched word by the Malayali netizens whose favourite Internet activity is downloading movies and songs. Interestingly, it is not Santhosh Pandit, but Prithviraj who is the most-searched personality this year, according to google insight search.The recently released Google zeitgeist has listed facebook as the most-searched word in India this year, while Katrina Kaif is the most-searched personality and ‘Bodyguard’ is the most-searched movie. Anna Hazare and Poonam Pandey are the fastest rising searches in the country.Surprisingly, cute and chubby actor Hansika Motwani is the Keraltie’s favourite. The heroine of Prabhu Deva-directed ‘Enkeyum Kadhal’ tops among the most-searched images. Keralites also searched for images of much-discussed film ‘Urumi’. Pictures of Vidya Balan and Nithya Menon follow the list. The word ‘hot’ is the most used keyword for image search.The studious Malayali has searched for the Lokpal when it became a hot topic in the country this year. ‘Lokpal’ and ‘Lokpal bill’ topped the most-searched word in the ‘Law and Government’ category.Among the ‘Art and entertainment’ category, actor Prithviraj’s marriage was the top search event. Number of searches related to ‘Prithviraj’ soared during mid-April and May, which shows Prithviraj’s marriage had much impact on the netizens. Prithviraj marriage, Pritviraj wedding photos, actor Prithviraj and Supriya Menon were some of the rising searches associated with the young actor’s marriage. Hyundai’s answer to beat the popularity of Tata’s Nano apparently made Keralitescurious. Hyundai ‘Eon’ was the most-searched keyword in the automobile category in 2011. It is followed by Kerala vehicle registration. ‘Swift 2011’ is the other popular search. ‘Harry Potter’ is the most-searched in books category, followed by ‘quotes’. Undoubtedly, Malayalis’ love for its favourite sports was evident as cricket was the top search in sports. ICC world cup and ‘India-England’ were the rising trends. Googleplus, YouTube, Gmail, Android, Torrentz and Bharat Movies, too are Keralites popular search keywords.
