BHUBANESWAR: The environment conscious citizens across the world will participate in the sixth ‘Earth Hour’, the largest display of environmental action, on March 31. The ‘Earth Hour’ is mainly about turning all the switches off for ‘zero’ electricity consumption during that hour. Citizens of around 135 countries have been participating in this for the past five years. This year, the Earth Hour is from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 31. According to Local Governance Network’s Co-Founder and Executive Director Piyush Ranjan Rout, the denizens of Bhubaneswar had actively participated in this event in 2009. The ‘Earth Hour’ is an annual event where people come together for global movement against climate change and encouraging positive attitude towards saving the environment.
