BANGALORE: In a pleasant turn of events, Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda was felicitated by members of the Dakshina-Kannada Gowda Welfare Association for the service he has been rendering to the state. In a function held in the city on Sunday, Sadananda Gowda was honoured by the community.Speaking at the felicitation, Dr Chinnappa Gowda, registrar Mangalore University lauded the chief minister’s achievements and his dedication to hard work. “We are proud that you are the Chief Minister of the state and not just our community leader,” he said before going on to relate interesting instances from Sadananda Gowda’s childhood. “Even our Governor has stated that Sadananda Gowda is an ever smiling CM, it is part of your name too,” he said. Speaking about his experiences of touring drought related taluks in the state the Chief Minister said, “I did not celebrate Diwali. I felt working would be the best way to celebrate.” He stated that he was closely monitoring the situation with reports coming in everyday. He also expressed confidence in the Right to Services Act being strong enough to bring down the level of delay in government offices. “It has been approved by the Cabinet and the whole process took just three months, people can expect faster service with this Act,” he said. The function also gave away prizes for three girl students from the community for scoring high marks.
