HYDERABAD: When she resigned from the post of deputy superintendent of police for the sake of Telangana in December 2009, she became an instant hit with proTelangana agitators and hobnobbed with senior TRS leaders. However, she got reinstated in March 2010.

Those close to her say the woman police official is all set to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. She is presently working with the Women Protection Cell in the CID. Sources said a TRS MLA has already given her assurance she would play a key role in the women wing of the party.Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Nalini said she had submitted her twopage resignation letter to the directorgeneral of police V Dinesh Reddy while faxing it to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi stating she is resigning from the post for the cause of a separate Telangana. Praising the stand taken by leaders like Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Jupalli Prabhakar, S Rajaiah who resigned from their party posts, Nalini is in all likelihood set to to start her political career. To attract and discuss issues with netizens, Nalini has created a blog www.telangananalini.blogspot.com and opened accounts on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

"When I resigned for the first time on December 12, 2009, a number of senior leaders approached me to join their political parties but I said no for various reasons. One political party openly invited me to contest as an MLA from my constituency in Nalgonda district. I have now resigned from the post of DSP to create awareness among people about the T movement,'' she added. Explaining her future course of action, she said she would be taking part in a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on December 9 and shortly be approaching Delhi police for permission.
