Drop cases on K-activists

CHENNAI: A team consisting of activists, journalists and legal experts that visited Koodankulam recently, alleged that cases have been foisted against anti-nuke activists under sections held ultra vires of the constitution by the SC. Activists alleged that as per the 107 FIRs and 55,795 cases against them, 6,800 people were charged with ‘sedition.’ Veteran journalist Sam Rajappa said hundreds of cases have been registered under Section 34 of the Police Act, which has been pronounced as ultra vires of the constitution by SC. They demanded that all such cases be dropped immediately.
