CHENNAI: The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) general secretary Vaiko on Saturday cautioned the people to stay calm in the face of Congress’ conspiracy to hang the three Rajiv convicts at any cost.Addressing a gathering during a memorial meeting conducted for Senkodi, who immolated herself to save the trio from gallows last month at Kancheepuram, in the city, Vaiko said, “There has been a concerted effort by the Centre and the Congress to create fissures among Tamils, who have been slowly uniting against them for masterminding the massacre of lakhs of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka.”While they (Congress) ‘fixed’ the hanging date of the trio, Perarivalan, Santhan and Murugan, the anger started growing against them in the State and it has actually started uniting the Tamils to save the three from gallows, Vaiko said. “We the Tamils should not fall prey to the sinister plans of the Centre and the Congress, who want to create a hostile environment in the State and thereby ensure that the case (about the trio in Madras HC) could not be heard properly,” Vaiko cautioned.“If we react to Congress-orchestrated agitations in the State, it may pave the way for shifting the case to New Delhi, where they will employ their dirty tactics to confirm the hanging of the three,” he further cautioned. “Tamils should stay calm until our goal of rescuing the trio from gallows is achieved and any reaction to Congress-masterminded agitations will break our unity that has been growing after Senkodi’s sacrifice,” urged Vaiko.
