The scam pertains to the supply of cheap cheap items of motor pumps, gear boxes and machinery for sewage treatment plants at inflated rates.
New Delhi: CBI officials on Thursday conducted raids at 21 places in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad in connection withe the Delhi Jal Board scam.
The investigative agency has already registered five cases against 8 Executive Engineers and five Junior Engineers of the utility service.
The officials are accused of conspiring with a private firm to fraudulently cheat the government to the tune of approximately Rs 6 crore by supplying spurious, cheap items of motor pumps, gear boxes and machinery and spare parts used in sewage treatment plants at exorbitant rates by showing the firm as authorised dealer of a manufacturing firm on the basis of forged and fake documents.
