VADAKARA: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has said that Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran was the first person to allege CPM hand in the murder and from this, it is clear that he was aware of the murder much earlier.Delivering the inaugural address at a meeting organised by the CPM as part of commemorating Kelu Ettan and E K Nayanar here on Saturday, Pinarayi said that now a campaign was on to malign the party in the issue. “Party had no enmity towards TP and there was no need to kill him,” added Pinarayi. Stating that TP and others had quit the party and floated RMP not because of ideological differences, Vijayan have said earlier that there was an issue of factionalism in the activities of TP which forced the party to take disciplinary action against him. But party gave him another chance and elected him to the Onchiyam area committee. The immediate reason for their quitting was the swapping of panchayat president positions of Eramala and Azhiyoor with Janata Dal (S). This was made on the basis of an agreement in the LDF, added Pinarayi.Reiterating the earlier stance that party had protest against theTP’s murder, Pinarayi added that it was not the way of the CPM to oppose the political opponents physically. “In case of M VR, who was termed class traitor by B T Ranadive, party exposed the ideological differences with him in the right way. Only a few members had quit the party and followed MVR.Gowri Amma, who marked her space in the history, also challenged the party. Here also, the party faced the issue by exposing the real matter and nothing happened to the organisational set up of the party in the districts which were claimed to be her strong bastions,” he added.
