Delhi Shocker: Man Rapes Friend From Bengal, Pours 'Hot Dal' Over Her & Beats Her For A Week
Delhi Shocker: Officials noted that when the woman was hospitalised, she had around 20 injury marks on her body. She was discharged recently, they added

A woman from West Bengal’s Darjeeling was allegedly raped for a week, beaten and tortured by her friend in south Delhi’s Neb Sarai area, police said on Tuesday. He even poured ‘hot dal (lentils)’ over the woman to hurt her.

The accused, identified as one 28-year-old Paras, was arrested on February 2 for rape, sodomy and causing hurt.

The woman had been staying with Paras for nearly a month in a rented accommodation in Neb Sarai’s Raju Park. Police found out about this incident on January 30, when the Neb Sarai police station received a PCR call about a woman being beaten by her husband.

Soon after the PCR call, a police team reached the spot and rescued the woman, following which, she was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Officials noted that when the woman was hospitalised, she had around 20 injury marks on her body. She was discharged recently, they added.

BEFRIENDED ACCUSED OVER PHONE

During enquiry, the victim said that she belonged to Darjeeling and had come in contact with the “accused over the phone”, a senior police officer said. She befriended Paras and had been in touch with him for the last three to four months.

The woman had gotten a job of a house maid in Bengaluru and she was supposed to reach the city by the first week of January, the officer said.

However, as her train was scheduled to go through Delhi, she decided to take a pause and meet Paras. The accused then asked her to stay and promised to help find a job for her.

Trusting his assurance, the victim stayed with him in a rented accommodation in Raju Park.

SEXUALLY ASSAULTED, BEATEN & TORTURED

But with the passing days, Paras began thrashing her and even sexually assaulted her for a week, the officer quoted the victim as saying.

One time, Paras even allegedly “poured hot dal over her”, causing her to suffer burn injuries, the officer added.

ACCUSED ARRESTED & BOOKED

Police, on January 30, registered an FIR based on the victim’s complaint under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (rape), 377 (sodomy) and arrested Paras on February 2.

The accused, hailing from Uttarakhand, used to work as a cook at an eatery in Delhi.

Police said that further investigation into the matter is underway.
