The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on a college in Kanyakumari district for failing to comply with court’s directions and failing to pay leave benefits and arrears of salary to its retired staff member. Justice S Manikumar asked St Jude’s College in Thoothoor to sanction the amount due to the petitioner, D John Paul Louis, and forward the sanction orders to the Accountant General of the state within a month.
