HYDERABAD: The state administration experienced some anxious moments as a flight carrying chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy along with about 60 other passengers could not land at Madhurapudi near Rajahmundry due to bad weather conditions. They heaved a sigh of relief only when the aircraft was given ground clearance more than 30 minutes behind schedule.
The chief minister left for Rajamundry in a flight from Hyderabad on Thursday morning and was scheduled to arrive in Madhurapudi at around 10.35 a.m. The Air Traffic Control at Madhurapudi airport did not give ground clearance for the aircraft from Hyderabad to land at the scheduled time as there was "no clear visibility".This forced the ATR aircraft to hover in the skies for about 30 minutes before the ATC finally gave the clearance for landing, official sources said. The flight finally touched ground at 11.15 a.m.
